The Gulf projects market index recorded a slight improvement during the month of August, despite the decline in projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. The value of the Gulf projects index rose by 0.3% to reach $3.38 trillion on September 9, from $3.37 trillion on August 12.

The project market in Kuwait was able to stop the downward trend after it recorded the largest loss in the value of contracts for Kuwaiti projects in the planning or implementation phase during the past month for the second month in a row. Consequently, the value of Kuwaiti projects during the month ending September 9 reached 206 billion dollars, compared to the value of the projects market in Qatar, which amounted to 202 billion dollars. Oman was one of the worst performing markets, with a decline of 1.9% to reach $150 billion, as projects worth $2.2 billion were frozen during the month ending September 9, and in Bahrain, a marginal drop of 0.6% led to the valuation of its projects market at less than 50 billion dollars.
